Image Processing
I use Astrovideo, or K3CCDTools, for image capture. I also use an
old version (4.1) of Paint Shop Pro for various processing tasks. Most recently I have been using Registax
for aligning, stacking and processing.
For some of the early work I did I used Astrostack.
For the planets I generally use K3CCDTools to take AVI's of planets. These AVI's can then be processed using K3CCDTools own software, or the AVI can
be read by Registax.
I am working on a help file for taking images and the subsequent image processing required - this will be posted here as
a pdf file when it is ready.
There is plenty of advice to be found on how to process images captured with a web cam.
The general principle is to stack multiple images to reduce the noise level.
It is also possible, and advisable to take dark frames.
